USB Promotion Group releases USB4 2.0 standard, doubling performance!
On September 1, 2022, the USB Promoter Group released the USB4 2.0 standard, a major update that enables 80Gbps transfer rates, superior to USB Type-C® cables and connectors. Performance is superior to USB Type-C® cables and connectors. the USB Type-C and USB Power Delivery (USB PD) specifications will also be updated to achieve higher levels of data performance. All of these specification updates are expected to be released in advance of this year's USB DevDays series, a developer event scheduled for November.
In addition, protocol updates will enable support for higher performance USB 3.2, DisplayPort™ and PCI d PCI Express® (PCIe®) data tunneling to take advantage of greater available bandwidth.
